The WM-AIS-2000 AIS Aids-to-Navigation multifunctional transponder is designed to provide AIS information in accordance with ITU-R M.1371-1 and IALA Recommendation A-126 on the use of Automatic Identification System (AIS) in Marine Aids to Navigation.
WM-AIS-2000 supports AIS VDL messages 6, 8, 12 and 21. Message selection and transmission schedule is user configurable. Message 21 could include telemetry statuses, using regional or local application data field.
Internal event setting can be used, which is user configurable. In addition, messages 6 and 8 could be utilised for this purpose.
Monitoring data can include solar charging voltage, battery voltage, light status, sunswitch status, flash code, current, etc.
WM-AIS-2000 AIS AtoN transponder broadcasts accurate AtoN information to both the mariners as well as the relevant authority.
The information includes the AtoN’s identification (MMSI), name, on or off position indication, position accuracy, AtoN type and size. Telemetry (message 12), meteorological and hydrological data could also be broadcasted when relevant interfacing are available.
When received by an AIS base station or mobile unit which is connected to a compatible computer running an electronic chart and/or SCADA system, the WM-AIS-2000 transponder’s data could be logged and displayed giving the operator a visual interpretation of the WM-AIS-2000 and respective AtoN’s operational status.
Required alarms could also be generated when necessary, such navigational buoy going off position. Control functions could be executed in order to remotely control the respective AtoN device.
Configuration software is packaged with the WM-AIS-2000 AIS AtoN transponder and the external programming can be easily done using a desktop or laptop computer, via a RS232 serial interface.
The enclosure that housed the internal electronics is sealed to IP67 and is painted to the required colour scheme (if any). GPS and VHF antenna assemblies for standard application are also supplied complete with the WM-AIS-2000.
