One of Wealth Marine's latest inventions, WM-L780A Long Range LED Lantern is intended for use as lighthouse, long range beacon etc. It has the potential of replacing the conventional Rotating Beacon which uses the conventional incandescent lamps as light source.
This new lantern has a nominal range of up to 18 nautical miles, and a stationary intensity of up to 70,000 candelas for white light.
For a flash length of 0.5 second, the effective intensity is 50,000 candelas with a nominal range of 18 miles (at T=0.74).
