AIS Base Stations
| |

AIS Base Stations are used for surveillance and management of vessel traffic along coastlines, on inland waterways and in ports.
The AIS Base Station VDL 6000/FASS provides all the features required for surveillance and management of vessel traffic. It is easily configured to the specific needs of individual customers, from a basic unit to a fully redundant system with an embedded controller providing extensive processing and logging functionality. Regardless of configuration, the VDL 6000/FASS is an excellent choice and offers superior performance and quality at very attractive prices.
Features The VDL6000/FASS fulfils all the requirements of relevant international AIS standards. For customers requiring extreme availability, the advanced configuration offers a unique, cost- efficient dual-transponder solution for system redundancy. Furthermore, our advanced Base Stations provide a number of additional functionalities, including local AIS message logging, remote configuration and software update, virtual and synthetic targets, SNMP, local target filtering, and remote power on/off. The VDL 6000/FASS is the perfect choice for the maritime authority implementing an AIS network and is also suitable for stand-alone operation at a VTS or port.
Configuration alternatives The VDL6000/FASS comes in three configuration alternatives: Basic, Repeater and Advanced.
Basic and Repeater configuration The Basic configuration has one transponder and fulfils all the requirements of international AIS standards. Interfacing with a LAN, it provides AIS targets information to a central VTS system. Broadcast and addressed text messaging, channel management and base station report functionality are included. The Basic VDL6000/FASS can also be configured as an AIS repeater station for remote installations.
Advanced configuration The Advanced configuration, with two transponders and embedded controller hardware running unique software from CNS Systems, offers redundant transponder systems operating in cold or hot stand-by. Optional items include AIS message logging, remote configuration and software update, virtual and synthetic targets, SNMP, local target filtering, remote power on/off and more.
